The Gospel That Cannot Be Contained

within the boundaries we assign to it.
It is not content to remain
in the interior chambers of belief,
nor to be preserved as a private consolation.

It moves—
as light that refuses enclosure,
as a river that exceeds its banks,
as truth that presses against every wall built to contain it.

What begins in the heart
seeks its form in the world.
What is received in stillness
demands expression in action.

It unsettles what we would prefer to leave undisturbed.
It crosses from confession into consequence,
from conviction into reordering.

It does not ask permission
to enter the structures we have normalized.
It enters,
reveals,
and transforms.

For the Gospel is not an idea to be held—
it is a reality that takes hold.

And wherever it is truly received,
it will not remain contained.

복음은 우리가 그어 놓은 경계 안에서

조용한 손님처럼 머물지 않습니다.

그것은 믿음의 내밀한 방 안에

갇혀 있는 것에 만족하지 않으며,

사적인 위로로서만 보존되는 것 또한 원치 않습니다.

복음은 움직입니다—

갇히기를 거부하는 빛처럼,

제방을 넘쳐흐르는 강물처럼,

자신을 가두려 세운 모든 벽을 밀어붙이는 진리처럼 말입니다.

마음속에서 시작된 것은

세상 속에서 그 형체를 찾으려 합니다.

고요함 속에서 받아들여진 것은

행동을 통한 표현을 요구합니다.

그것은 우리가 그대로 두고 싶어 하는 것들을

뒤흔들어 놓습니다.

그것은 고백의 영역에서 결과의 영역으로,

확신의 영역에서 재정립의 영역으로 건너갑니다.

그것은 우리가 당연시해 온 구조들 속으로 들어갈 때,

누구에게도 허락을 구하지 않습니다.

그것은 들어오고,

드러내며,

변화시킵니다.

복음은 우리가 손에 쥐고 있는 하나의 관념이 아니라—

오히려 우리를 사로잡는 하나의 실재이기 때문입니다.

그리고 복음이 진정으로 받아들여지는 곳이라면 어디서든,

그것은 결코 그 안에만 갇혀 있지 않을 것입니다.
